Vista

This composition shows how our lives have been affected and limited by the global Covid-19 crisis. In addition to all the human suffering, this was also a challenging time for the many musicians who were unable to rehearse or perform in their bands. The piece is not so much intended to describe how people felt or reacted during the crisis, but tries to translate some aspects of the crisis into musical elements. Each section has a descriptive title that tells something about the mechanics of the composition, but also reflects the feelings expressed musically. Vista means “perspective” and refers to the freedom we regain when an epidemic situation comes to an end.
