Au-delà de l'avenir (Score)

Au-delà de l'avenir was written for the Royal Windband Eendracht Aalbeke and conductor Aaron Eggermont. Aalbeke is a municipality in West Flanders, close to the French border. One of the 'landmarks' in this municipality is the statue 'The Portman', erected in honor of the many workers who went to work across the border (au-delà de la frontière). Hard work is said to be in the DNA of the West Flemish, so composer Klaas Coulembier turned this work into a lively composition with a lot of activity. The hard work translates, among other things, into the use of ostinati (repetitive and persistent).
