The Hole

This work for three horns depicts a day in the life of the headstrong calico cat Anika. It opens with the serene atmosphere of dawn, in which Anika stretches lazily and curiously checks whether her food bowl is full. The piece then bursts into a playful and adventurous journey through the garden, where she explores every nook and cranny. With graceful leaps and a touch of mischief, she chases after a bird – a tense moment that, as expected, fails miserably.

But Anika doesn't let herself be boxed in. The work ends with a triumphant conclusion, in which she proudly and contently concludes her day, returning to her favorite spot for a well-deserved nap.
