Field of Diamonds (Windband)
€59.00
“Field of Diamonds” was composed for the 75th anniversary of the Royal Harmony Art after Labor Veldegem conducted by Jos Vanbesien. The title unmistakably refers to the village of “Veldegem” and the diamond jubilee of this local harmony.
The premiere took place in the 'De Steen' hall on 12/01/2020 and was conducted by the composer himself. The piece was received very enthusiastically by musicians, board and audience.
The village of Veldegem used to be considered 'the field of Zedelgem', a barren place with swamps, inland dunes and ponds. Throughout history, the village's reputation has been enhanced. Veldegem currently has a vibrant social and cultural life.
The composition starts somewhat brashly and evolves little by little into a beautifully cut diamond full of sparkle, fire and clarity.
