Flanders in 2020

“Flanders in 2020” talks about how Flanders is evolving under the influence of the great cultural diversity and what influence this has on our ancient warrior people. You can hear the cultural diversity in the work when, for example, North and Central African percussion influences mix with the Flemish hero theme.

In the atonal parts, composer Braam De Tant refers to the problems and struggles in our history. Nevertheless, we continue to proudly sing about “Flanders the lion” to illustrate and celebrate our rich history.

“Flanders in 2020” is an ideal concert piece with fine rhythms and the powerful themes strengthen the harmony for both the playing musician and the audience.
