Mood Swings
€29.00
Music for chamber orchestra with solo horn F
The source of inspiration for this composition is very personal and at the same time emotionally charged. The work attempts to give voice to the often unpredictable mood swings of a child with psychological and character issues — my grandchild. At certain moments, the child can appear remarkably calm, sweet, and vulnerable, but just as suddenly switch to aggressive and problematic behavior, sometimes with far-reaching consequences. Moments later, that restlessness seems to have vanished again, and he sits playing the piano almost angelically or doing crafts playfully and with concentration.
The continuous alternation between tenderness, unrest, threat, and stillness forms the emotional core of the work. The somber and melancholic melodies aim not only to give voice to the tragedy of this issue but also express my personal concern and powerlessness in the face of a situation that is simultaneously moving and difficult.
