Oak'n Diamond (FA)
€59.00
On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the Royal Catholic Fanfare Nieuwpoort, their conductor Robin Verhelst composed a festive march. The title of the work refers to this event. Oak – oak – stands for an 80th anniversary and diamond for one of 60 years. Add those two figures together and you arrive at 140, the number of years that the KKFN has existed.
Immediately from the intro you are taken in by party noise. The march radiates joy and cheerfulness. The composer also ensures that all instruments can be used to their best advantage. If you feel like dancing or taking part in a polonaise, then let yourself go. The trio starts with a percussion solo, something that can perfectly be performed by a drum corps. Afterwards there is even room for singing. The lyrics are not difficult, just la la la.
