Six Quators, Opus 2 B. 307-312

At the request of the University of Lausanne (Suisse), these 'Six Quators' for string quartet were transcribed by Peter Leroy into the 20th century.

Ignaz Pleyel (°1757 – 1831) was a celebrated Austrian composer from the classical period between Haydn and Beethoven. His oeuvre consists of didactic works for beginning musicians, 41 symphonies, 70 string quartets, string quintets and many other chamber music works. At the end of the 18th century, he founded his own music publishing house 'Maison Pleyel' on French soil and started building pianos, for which he is certainly still known today.
