Rush! (Score)

Rush! is a musical expression of the feeling that sports can give. The work was composed on behalf of Herwig Reynaert and Bart van Grysperre based on their book Olympic (victors), in which they tell the stories of Olympic athletes whose careers were intersected by the world wars. A rapid pulse can be heard almost continuously throughout the entire composition. The work starts with a heartbeat that gradually quickens, the adrenaline increases and then erupts into a fast tempo in which woodwinds and brass players fuel each other.
